Us 2, neighbors 0

When I mentioned crotchety neighbors, you probably thought of an old guy shaking his cane or a woman with several cats. Neither was the case. The 2 guys that I did catch a glimpse of seemed to be younger--40 or under.

I can understand being annoyed at living near a vacation rental (especially one that is a mere 10 feet away from your own home). But these guys were overboard. It was a holiday, and a weekend. And it is not our fault that the house had no AC so we had to open all the windows to survive.

To whoever called the cops about our parking: It was a narrow road, so I understand your concern. But really, did you have to involve the cops? A simple word from a friendly neighbor would have been much more effective. Besides, the cops said our cars were fine.

To whoever called the cops about our "noisy" party at 8:30 pm: As I said before, the only reason all of our windows were open is so we could survive the heat, so thanks a lot for making us feel obligated to close them. Our music wasn't loud. We were just talking. Was it the laughter that drove you crazy? Perhaps you were jealous that you don't have such cool friends. Anyway, the cops, after hearing our soft music playing in the background, told us we were just fine as long as we weren't loud after 10. It seemed as though they might have been called by you one too many times to take it seriosly.

It was just so funny because we never did anything wrong. We should have talked to those cops about filing some harrassment charges. ;)

So I got sick saturday morning and had to miss the fun alpine slide/coaster/zip line. I was feeling a bit better so went up to a free concert at the Canyons. Mike and I took a little too long at the car, and everyone else caught the tram up, while they closed it right before we got one because of lightning. So we walked up to the concert, sat down for 10 minutes, had a bit to eat, then it started raining on us. Yeah. We came back to the house, hung out for a bit, then headed home.

Big thanks to all those who helped keep track of the kids so we could go!
